Best Websites is a free, hand-picked directory of the internet’s best websites, built to help people find genuinely useful sites without wading through spammy link farms or paid placements. Listings span dozens of categories, from developer tools and SaaS platforms to news, education, and entertainment.
Every listing gets more than a name and a link. When a site is added, we fetch the live page and build a structured profile from its own content covering what the business actually does, who it serves, its pricing and business model, and how it fits into its competitive landscape. Technical details like category, favicon, and metadata are gathered automatically, while a human administrator reviews each entry, assigns it to the right category, and can correct or rewrite anything the automated process gets wrong — descriptions can be, and often are, written or edited by hand.
Most “best of” lists online are either outdated, stuffed with affiliate links, or written without anyone actually looking at the site being recommended. We wanted something different: a directory where every entry reflects the site as it exists today, with enough real detail — industry, founding year, company size, target audience — that you can decide whether it’s worth a visit before you click through.
Listings can be refreshed at any time to pick up changes on the source site, and administrators can lock in manual corrections that stick even through future refreshes. If you spot something inaccurate on a listing, or want to suggest a website for inclusion, the Contact page is the fastest way to reach us.
